TRANSITION INFORMATION

Miss Simcock is the class teacher for Transition. Children enter Transition in the term of their fourth birthday. Depending on their birthday, they spend either 1, 2 or 3 terms in the class before moving on to Reception.

In class the children participate in a variety of activities including practical number, phonics, games, play doh, sand and water play. The children enjoy playing with construction toys and they especially enjoy playing in the house corner.

We do lots of craft activities which include cutting and sticking, painting and we use a variety of materials. transition do cooking with Nursery twice a term.

The children have three singing lessons a week with Mrs Hill and Mrs Gunn. They also have three gym sessions where they do climbing, balancing, catching, throwing and music and movement. the class have a weekly dance lesson.

It is important that the children have fun, are happy and enjoy coming to school. the children are encouraged to share, to be kind to and help each other.
