NURSERY
Children enter the nursery during the term in which they are three. They remain in this class for one year. Their teachers, Mrs Stephens and Miss Millington, provide a busy and varied day of structured learning though play with emphasis on fun, learning to share and building good relationships with the other children.
Activities include cooking, many types of painting, play doh, waterplay, sand, construction toys, puzzles, home corner, many forms of craft and learning to manipulate scissors. The children play number and colour games and use a computer.
We have gym activities three times a week. Singing and music are taught by the specialist musc teachers, Mrs Gunn and Mrs Hill. this culminates in a Christmas nativity play and a summer concert. The Brockway School of Dance, under Mrs Perrin, provide one lesson a week. The children attend assembly twice a week and put on their own assembly for the rest of the school once a term.
Upon entering nursery the children wear school uniform - they also now eat in the hall with four, five and six year olds at lunchtime. Ballet and yoga are available as after school activities. the nursery is registered for the early years funding scheme for three and four year olds.
