Welcome to the Knoll School
The Knoll School, situated in and around a large house on the outskirts of Kidderminster, was founded in 1917 and became an Educational Trust in 1966.An extensive new building was opened in 1997 by Mr Tom O’Connor and in January 2003 our building programme was completed when Dr. R. Taylor M.P. opened our purpose built Nursery Unit.
Choosing Childcare
The unit was featured in a Worcestershire County Council dvd "Choosing Childcare" as an example of good provision in the local area. This video is available to the left. We continue to be a very popular co-educational day school, catering for children from 3 months to 11 years of age.
As you would expect, we have high expectations of our pupils in all aspects of their academic, physical, social and moral education. This is achieved by an experienced and dedicated staff who provide a stimulating and challenging environment and give the children time, confidence, opportunity and guidance, enabling them to attain their true potential. The role of the parent also plays an integral part in the process and we are fortunate in having a supportive parent body whose efforts are highlighted by our thriving Parents’ Association.

New Ofsted Report
Mrs Rachel Wyatt from Ofsted inspected Nursery, Transition and Reception classes, our Early Years Foundation Stage. The full report arrived on Monday 2nd June 2008. I am obviously delighted that we were awarded the top grade of outstanding in all aspects of the children’s education and pleased for all the staff involved as this is a well deserved accolade for their hard work and dedication.
It was equally pleasing that the inspector recognised the valued contribution of our parents: “Partnership with parents and carers is outstanding” and reinforced my belief in the importance of our ‘open door policy’.
It is not surprising that numbers in the school are flourishing, with waiting lists in place for Reception and First Steps Nursery which caters for children from 3 months to rising three. The new extension to First Steps scheduled to commence in July will be ready for September thankfully. according to its recent inspection report.
